Sweden! Malmo, Sweden

Malmö Sweden

Malmö Sweden

I'm not even sure where to start. I guess the beginning would be a good place, yes? Matt and I were luckily enough to join two other students and a faculty member on a trip to Sweden and Denmark to work on a couple of research projects.

Yup – I went to Sweden and Denmark for work. When did I start going to Europe on work-related activities?

Sweden was amazingly beautiful The first day that we were there it was quite cold but snow free. Probably a good thing since we got off at the wrong train stop and ended up dragging our luggage for 20ish minutes until we got to the hotel. Turns out our correct subway stop was literally right next to the hotel. I kid you not.

Our hostel had no closet, only a small clothes rack. But we made it work while being super professional. Oh & Malmo has a giant lamp in the middle of downtown.

We woke up the next morning to snow. SNOW, I tell you! Oh, the heart on this little Californian was fluttering nonstop. And the snow was nonstop for the week that we were there. Truly magical. I mean beside the fact that it ruined my non-waterproof boots, but whatever. So worth it.

Maybe that is how I ruined my boots.

Now this wasn't my first time seeing snow but it was the first time I had seen it just fall like that. And it was beautiful. And magical. And I loved every bit of it. And so did my silly “I'M A TOURIST” / incredibly warm hat.

For those of you who didn't grow up with snow, can you remember the first time you saw snow? Or, have you been to Sweden?

Your pictures are absolutely magical! I can’t believe you got to go to Sweden – so awesome! The first time I saw real snow was this past Christmas in New Mexico and it was truly magical. I loved watching it fall and thought it made the best photos.

Lol at your joy of snow. But it really is great. Falling snow is always magical, even if you are dreading all the bad driving that follows in its wake.

How fun! Can I have your job? :-) I’m so over snow…haha. I grew up on the East Coast and loved it growing up…getting the day off from school was awesome! But then I grew up and moved to Ohio for school where it snowed ALL THE TIME! And snow is super annoying (and dangerous) when you have to drive in it!
