May Treasures

And just like that, it's May. This month always feels a little sentimental, probably because of graduations; May feels like a month of both endings and new beginnings. It feels especially sentimental for me, however, since it marks two years since we moved from California and up to Seattle. This May also brings another new beginning – I'm saying goodbye to my home office and working in a co-working space. And today is my first day. I'll report back.

loving. the final day of working from home. I'm going to miss those pajamas.
learning. how to be the relaxed pup momma at the dog park. I'm typically stressed out about Lu playing too rough but I think that I'm finally starting to relax.
smelling. all the candles! I'm obsessed with my Paddywax candles (I LOVE the Driftwood & Indigo as well as the Sea Salt & Sage).
writing. a daily diary. I forgot how much I like reflecting back on my days before bed.
reading. I started the Handmaid's Tale so that I can read it before I watch the series. I'm also still reading The Girl in the Spider's Web, the 4th installment of the Millennium series … still. I'm also about to start The Girls. A friend from high school is the author and gave me a copy but I haven't had a chance to read it yet.
watching. American Gods. The first episode did not disappoint.
craving. sunshine on my face.
obsessing. over a clean house. I've been getting stressed due to work and when I'm stressed, I clean.
wishing. that I was on a beach.
needing. to stick to my editorial calendar.
wanting. to take a vacation.
trying. to keep everything in order.
eating. all the cheese. I've been trying to do the vegan thing for the last couple of years but right now I'm into cheese. Oops.
drinking. so much sparkling water from our SodaStream!
feeling. excited for my upcoming trip to Chicago!
hoping. that I enjoy working in my new coworking space.

Happy May, treasure hunters.

I love Paddywax candles too! The one I have is tobacco + patchouli, it smells awesome. I hope you like Handmaid’s Tale, I read it last year and really liked it. Also, the show is really good, though I’m only one episode in right now.

I wish I could figure out how to relax at the dog park. Every once and a while I think I can be chill and then I’ll see a dog fight (never involving my dog) and freak out and avoid it for a while. I guess for me it’s not about trusting my dog, it’s about trusting other dogs and their owners.

I hope you love your coworking space! Also, Chicago?! I’m a tiny bit jealous! What are you going there for?

Yes! How exciting was American Gods? I loved the book and knew that a movie could never do it justice but I feel optimistic about this show! x
