Treasure Tromp Book Club
One of my 30 by 30 goals is to read 30 (non-school or work related) books. Some months I check a lot of books off the list while it feels like there is absolutely no time to read other months. You can see all 25/30 books that I've read in the last year here. Here are some books that I've managed to read in the last few weeks and four more that I can't wait to finish.

Recently Read
Dark Places | I absolutely loved Gone Girl, so I wanted to read more of Gillian Flynn's books. Dark Places, Flynn's second book, is about a 30-something girl who survived her family's massacre and her brother who was convicted of the crime. I found the book a bit slow at first but ended up really enjoying it. Rating: 4/5

Sharp Objects | Sharp Objects was Gillian Flynn's first book and took me all of two days to read. This book is truly filled with suspense and thrill, and had me hooked form the beginning. I loved trying to figure out all of the secrets, twists, and turns that Flynn put forth. Rating: 4.5 stars

The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner, Book 2) and The Death Cure (Maze Runner, Book Three) | I'm going to say it – this might be my favorite young adult dystopian series. Because until some series (such as the The The Hunger Games Trilogy, Divergent, and Matched), I really liked all three books and I wasn't disappointed with the last book of the series.

Current / Future Reads

Current Reading
Full Dark, No Stars | as I the only one surprised to find out that Stephen King is the master of short stories? I've been reading this collection of stories off and on for the last couple of years, actually. These short stories range in topic, length, and creep factor (but they are all pretty damn creepy). These stories are a must read for anyone who loves a good thriller.

Yes Please | Raise your hand if you want to be Amy Poehler's best friend. I can't wait to start reading this one.

The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look at a Shallow Year | I'm not at all ashamed to admit that I LOVE everything Bravo / Andy Cohen.

What Alice Forgot | This book has been on my list for a while since I read The Husband's Secret.

Both of the Gillian Flynn books are at the top of my list to read right now – your review tells me which to pick first (I need one that’ll take 2 days to read – those are my favorite books). Amy Poehler’s book is on my list too! :)

I couldn’t decide whether I liked Sharp Objects or Dark Places better when I first read them (I read them in succession as well), but looking back I just LOVED Dark Places. It was so dark (pun intended).

You know, I enjoyed Sharp Objects better while I was reading it but thinking back, Dark Objects has stuck with me a bit more. Does that make sense?

Yes it does, because that’s exactly how I felt! :) I think I actually wrote in my Goodreads review for Sharp Objects that it was my favorite of her books, and then later I thought, “That’s not right. Dark Places was better.” Haha.

The Maze Runner series is pretty good. I think that you’ll like it if you’re into dystopian novels.

I just started reading Bossypants, and I love it (though I have to say that so far, I like Mindy’s book better!). Amy Poehler’s book looks like it’d be really good, too. Otherwise, I have a few classics I plan to read over winter break!
