Monthly Goals | September

September Goals

  • Relax! I was away from home every weekend of August. Meaning I spent a total of 17 of 31 nights in my own bed at home While I enjoyed my time in San Francisco, Sonoma, Portland, and Las Vegas, I'm ready to stay home most of the month!
  • Enjoy Seattle. It looks like I'll be making a little trip up to Seattle later in the month so I'm pretty excited. I think that the trip will include both city times and nature times, which is incredibly exciting.
  • September Wedding Tasks. Because that ish is getting closer and closer.
  • Keep To My Daily Schedule. I've got a little daily schedule that I created to help me maintain balance in my life.
  • Meditate. I'm trying to include meditation as part of my daily routine. I've always had a very difficult time with meditation so this will be a real challenge for me.

What are your goals for the month?

  • I was thinking about this very thing this morning. *sigh*

I’ve told my kids at work that my goals are completing a C25K program by Nov 1, losing 20 lbs by Thanksgiving, reading 2 books in November, taking 500 photos/month, and teaching myself to use Lightroom, so I will be making steady progress on those – can’t lose face with the kiddos.

Meditation is on my list, too. I had gotten into a really good groove with it before the end of the school year last year, and I haven’t made it back there yet this school year. I’m also looking to do a few things with my blog so I’ll be working on that this month.,

    • I love those goals and that you have your kids to keep you accountable! I especially like the taking 500 photos a month goal. What inspired you to try to complete that? good luck this month!

      • We’re all working on goals together so it’s helping to hold each other accountable.

The 500 number is pretty arbitrary. I sorta picked it out of the air when I figured that if I take myself & my camera out once a week, and shoot for an hour or so I usually wind up taking about 100 pictures. (Weekend before last I was at a photography club group shoot for about 2 hours and came home with almost 250 images) Of course not all of them are good, but I’m getting better at recognizing that as I take the pictures. Which is the point of the volume ;-)

  • I always feel like September and the start of a new school year is a time for goals so I need to get on making mine.

  • I’m trying to stick to a budget eating routine, and get back on track with running! Love Fall! Always good to have a fresh start, even if it is the little things. :)

  • I really should implement some time of daily schedule. It would probably be very beneficial. That’s a lot of time away from home. Hopefully you get to relax at home this month!

  • “Because that ish is getting closer and closer.” Hahahaha! It’s commmiiinnngggg!

  • I have always wanted to go to Seattle! I hope you blog about it!

  • Hello, I’m visiting from the weekly wishes link-up:
Loved your ‘relax’ goal. I think I should implement that one too.
One of my goals for this month is to schedule in advance some of my blog posts.
Hope you’re enjoying Seattle and wish you best of lucks with the wedding tasks :)
Greetings and have a nice day ♥.

  • Great blog design! I’m a Seattleite, and I love it here. Please hit me up if you have any questions! Enjoy the wedding planning!

  • Good luck with your goals! Sounds like you had such an intense month of August, hope you get to relax a bit more in September :)

  • I’m sure you’ve heard about a million suggestions for meditation, but one trick that works for me is a chilled out song that I love set to repeat on a low volume via headphones. The music played over and over tends to drown out the ‘noise’ in my mind and allows me to focus on mediating. The trick is picking the right song…

    • that is an excellent idea! I actually haven’t tried it before but I’m looking forward to trying it tonight!

  • Love your goals!
I am dying to get to pretty much all of the cities on your list!
Meditation definitely needs to make its way back into my life.

    • thanks, Britt! All of the cities are pretty amazing. I just love the west coast!

Have you tried meditation before? Did you find it helpful?

      • Yes! I used to do it everyday and it was awesome. I’ve never been more calm and centered than when I did it.

  • I was actually thinking about starting meditation this month as well. I never have, but the benefits seem worth it!

  • How did you like Britney? Was it a much better show than ours? Best of luck on your goals this month! :) I know after traveling a lot.. though more travel seems exciting.. it’s SO nice to stay home and get some rest and relaxation.

    • I have so many mixed feelings about the show! I’m going to do a little recap on Thursday.

  • Mar

Have fun in Seattle! Can’t wait to see your pics :)

oh my goodness, you really did have a busy month – hope you have a relaxing month in september! my goals are to be as active as possible, and no soda. here’s hoping!

  • Tara Edie

This post is a great reminder for me to set my own monthly goals. I feel like I’ve become somewhat complacent in my routine and I think recommiting to my intentions and dreams will reenergize and remotivate me to live a more contented life…so thank you!! Meditation is always a goal of mine but I always always always deprioritize it. I’m adding it to my list for September in addition to logging better sleep hours, being more proactive and attentive in my relationships, reading (or rather re-reading) The Four Agreements, and cutting fewer corners. Not sure that’s all my list but a good start. Plus, there’s always October…

    • ooh I love your goals this month, especially being proactive and attentive in your relationships. Let me know how your meditation goes! I’d love the share tips!

  • Sarah [life of love]

Ugh, so jealous you’re headed to Seattle! Give the city a huge hug for me, eh?! And, eeee, wedding! So close!
