I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm a TV junkie. And while I'll miss the summer months, September means premiere season! In addition to my usual favorites (The Mindy Project, Modern Family, Parks & Rec, Scandal, Parenthood, etc.), I'm excited for these 6 new fall TV shows.
6 New Fall TV Shows To Watch
This show had me at Casey Wilson (I'm still so bitter that Happy Endings was canceled). ABC, Tuesday at 9.
I hate how much I liked the pilot. The centers upon a woman who is too caught up in social media to function in every day life. The best thing about this show, however, is that it stars John Cho, one of the few Asian American actors in a leading role. ABC, Tuesdays at 8.
I'm such a sucker for crime shows so it is no surprise that I'm excited for Forever. Ioan Gruffudd plays a medical examiner with a major secret: he's immortal. I actually really enjoyed the pilot (available online now). ABC, Tuesdays at 10pm.
Like I need another Shonda Rhimes addiction. Is it sad that I'm mostly excited to see Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas in Harry Potter) in something new? ABC, Thursdays at 10.
I'm in for anything Laurence Fishburne is in / produces. The line about the “mythical and majestic Black family” in the trailer just about killed me (in a wonderful way). I've heard that Black-ish is a mix between Modern Family & The Cosby Show … I'm not entirely sure of what that means but I assume that is an easy way of saying a Black version of Modern Family and I'm okay with that. ABC, Wednesdays at 9:30.
I haven't been this excited about a new show in a long time. I not-so-secretly love everything about Batman (Batman Begins is easily one of my favorite movies), so I'm beyond excited for this new show. It honestly cannot come soon enough. And apparently, I'm not the only one excited: The Television Critics Association named Gotham the most promising new fall series. FOX, Mondays at 8.
