Back to Africa

Giraffe in South Africa

Giraffe in South Africa
I've been back in the United States for 77 days. If you follow me on instagram then you know that I'm off on my next adventure and going back to Africa today, specifically to Cameroon. Matt and I will both be attending a conference related to our profession. It is strange, though, to be returning back to Africa after being back in the states for only 2.5 months. I know that Cameroon will be nothing like South Africa, but I can't help but feel some sense of familiarity with the area. Maybe it is because I'll be at a conference with like-minded professional or because I'll just be back in Africa in general. Regardless, I'm excited to experience a new part of the world, especially since I get to experience it all with my PIA (partner in adventure), and head back to Africa.

  • hope you have a great trip! I spent 2.5 months in the states last summer/fall before coming back to Taiwan… it felt like I had just finally re-adjusted to life before uprooting it all again. hopefully your trip will be short enough that you won’t be so shocked coming back into the US :)

  • Lucky you, all my conferences tend to be in either Baltimore or D.C. area and at the worst times of the year (sweltering hot or freezing cold). Just escaped the recent snow storm in D.C. as week or two ago coming back from a conference. Enjoy!

  • Have an amazing time in Cameroon. A friend of mine just spent a few months working there and said it was totally different from anything she’d experienced. So nice that you get to do it with your beau too.
