Setting appropriate and manageable goals has been on my mind a lot lately. Although setting small weekly goals has been really helpful for me, I also like to see the bigger picture: what are the major things in my life that I want / need to get done, and how do I get there? So I spent a considerable amount of time this weekend creating a list of goals to clear my head and set me straight.
Last week’s goal:
♥ Make Some (minor) Blog Changes: Done and done. Most of it is behind the scenes work that you probably won’t notice BUT I plan on starting a new series on Friday!
This week’s goal:
♥ Daily Workout Schedule: I have said this a thousand times and I bet you have as well. But this time I actually made a daily workout routine which is actually progress for me.
This month’s goals:
♥ Back to Health Eating: While working out has never been a strong skill of mine, eating healthy has. I got a little off track after moving to South Africa but I’m making myself get back with it.
♥ Stick to My Monthly Ph.D. Schedule: Last Monday I mapped out my goals for completing my Ph.D. Yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals. It isn’t incredible detailed but it is the first step to getting done with my program. And I am beyond ready to be done. Don’t get me wrong, I love my program. But I also went straight from undergrad to my master’s program and then directly to my current program without a break; I have no idea what it is like to not be a student. And I’m ready to be have those fancy initials after my name (#priorities).
♥ Explore. While the next few months are my time to write and make progress on my program, it is also my time to explore a new country. And I don’t want to forget that.
What are your goals for the week / month?
