the facts of me

Today is the day I return to the US, after about 2 weeks of being in beautiful Scandinavia. While I readjust to being back in the States, I thought that I’d leave you with some facts about me, per Whitney’s link up. Some are silly, some heartfelt. Ready?

thefacts of me

♥ Don’t own a hairdryer. Never have, never will. These hairs can’t handle the heat.
♥ I like to plan out my day by the hour. It makes me feel more efficient. And slightly crazy.
♥ I’ve got a weird double-jointed thing going on with my shoulders. So weird that I can actually play jump rope with my arms.
♥ After seeing it once, most people ask me not to play jump rope with my arms again.
♥ Britney Spears will always hold a very special place in my heart. Haters to the left.
♥ Obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Arrested Development.
♥ I feel no shame for loving the Hunger Games, Divergent, Twilight, Matched….
♥ Since graduating college, I’ve turned into quite the traveler. In the last 4 years, I’ve been to Italy, France, Switzerland, Korea, Japan, Costa Rica, Canada, Denmark and Sweden. More international travels to come in July!
♥ Through college, I considered myself a Christian Republican. Now I view myself as an Agnostic Democrat.
♥ My puppy clock is seriously ticking.
♥ I love the taste of (real) beer.
♥ I was a competitive gymnast growing up.
♥ My graduating class in HS was 31 people.
♥ I believe that Natalie Portman is a beautiful creature.  Maybe the most beautiful.
♥ I can’t believe that my friends and family members in same-sex relationships are not allowed to marry. And for that, I am ashamed to be an American.
♥ I’m so proud of President Obama for saying the following: ”For our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers, and daughters can earn a living equal to their efforts. Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well”. And for that, I am proud to be an American.
♥ I’ve got a thing for hearts. And Hello Kitty.
♥ I was always will be a sorority girl (Alpha Gamma Delta love). No, not sorry about it. And for the record, we don’t ‘buy our friends’. Promise.
♥ Somethings I think that I only read the blogs of super cute, young, Mormon moms. True?
♥ My father was a professional musician but I haven’t got a musical bone in my body.
♥ I love everything Pokemon. Looks like the secret is out.
♥ It pisses me off when people don’t return a friendly smile. WHY YOU SO MEAN??
I’m from the Bay where we hyphy and go dumb. From the soil where them rappers be getting their lingo from. Born in Oakland, CA, raised in the heart of wine country, Sonoma. So yeah, I’m obviously really hardcore.
♥ More wine please.
♥ Concerts & shows are my thing. Last concert? Grizzly Bear, blowing my mind.
♥ I love musical theatre and have season passes to the Pantages, the theatre in Los Angeles.
♥ I’m thiiiiiiiiiiiis excited that Best Week Ever is returning. Thank you VH1! Looks like I need to get cable again.
♥ Against my will, I am 1.5 years cable free (Hulu Plus and Netflix don’t count, right?)
♥ hedgehogs on hedgehogs on hedgehogs.
♥ Sometimes I snort when I laugh.
♥ I expect great things for myself.

Love this–so does all your extra income go to a travel fund?

    • http://treasuretromp.com Nicole

for the most part, yes! We try to save a set amount each month that goes into a travel fund. But I’ve also been lucky/ strategic with travel. For example, we went to Korea for a wedding, so hopping over to Japan was very easy (and way cheaper). And my current trip to Scandinavia was mostly work related but I added 3 extra days strictly for sightseeing!

Love all your fun facts! I don’t own a hairdryer either – my crazy curly hair would never be the same if I tried to blow dry it. I seriously cried yesterday when Obama was talking about gay rights. I’m not American, but it made me proud anyway. You’re so lucky getting to do all that travelling! I’m hoping to do some this year. *crosses fingers* Great meeting you! :-)
