Attention: it is freezing in Sweden! Who would have thought, right? So while I’m absolutely freezing out here in Scandinavia, I’m also dreaming of a nice warmer place. Preferable with a beach.
Barbados, anyone?
So you can’t really blame me for being completely jealous of Setarra and her amazing trip to Barbados and St. John! So go grab a glass of wine, sit back and pretend that you’re on the trip with her.
Hello Treasure Tromp Readers!
Setarra over here and I blog over at The Burghal Gurl. My little bloggity is a place where I talk about life, living in NYC, dance, food and all things in between that make me happy.
I Am Super Excited For 2013!
The boyfriend and I are starting the New Year with a trip to Barbados this month! The best part about it is that I will be getting my FIRST ever stamp in my passport! I know, I know … I’m a late travel bloomer. I’m 25 and still no stamp in my passport …
It’s actually kinda sad.
In my defense, I will say that Canada cheated me out of my first stamp 2 years ago when I went to Ottawa. Apparently, you can only get a stamp when you fly into Canada from the U.S. … Not when you DRIVE into Canada = Ew. But the Poutine = YUMMMMMM!
Back to my upcoming vacation … This will be my second foray into the Caribbean. Last summer, I went to St. John, USVI (Still under the U.S. commonwealth so no stamp once again haha). It was an ah-mazing experience and I hope my trip to Barbados will be just as awesome. As I reminisce about St. John while brainstorming outfits for Barbados, I thought I would share with you some highlights from my trip to St. John.
The Sunsets!
I would look forward to these sunsets each night as we hung out on the beach the 5 days we were there. The culture of island life is sooo relaxed. Time isn’t on the fore front of the mind. It was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of New York.
The Beaches!
This picture above is from Trunk Bay, the first of many beaches we visited during our stay. It was such a beautiful, clear day when I took this pic. As I was laying on the beach, I kept on singing to myself “I can show you the world … Shining, Shimmering, Splendid.” (10 points to the first person that can name the movie these lyrics comes from.)
Sailing On A Catamaran!
The reason I went to St. John this past summer was to attend a destination wedding. The family of the bride booked this boat and took all the weddings guests out for a day of sailing. We went snorkeling, ate yummy sandwiches, and drank some dranks! Boats and booze … Haaaaaaay! I was a little worried at first about getting sea sick but the catamaran sailed so smoothly. By far, this was a major highlight from my trip to St. John.
St. John will always have a place in my heart but I’m pale … And ready to get my tan on in Barbados!
Make sure to stop by my blog to see how my vacay goes! In the meantime, you can read more about my trip to St. John here!
Omggggg can I talk about how upset I was that I also didn’t get stamp for driving into Canada?!? That’s bull. Haha I adore Setarra and I can’t wait to read all about your international travels girl!!!
