Each year our school has a little Thanksgiving party the weekend before the holiday. All of the students in my concentration were asked to bring either cranberry sauce or an appetizer. Challenge accepted. After searching for unique recipes online, I found a couple of recipes for fried almonds and thought that it would be fun to try.
Fried Almonds with Thyme and Rosemary
Ingredients
3 cups of almonds (1lb) ~~ olive oil ~~ coarse sea salt ~~ thyme leaves ~~ fresh rosemary
Directions
Heat up olive oil in a large pan until hot
Toss in the almonds and stir until evenly coated in the olive oil. Keep them in there until they are a nice brown(er) color
Remove from heat and place on paper towels to absorb some of the excess oil
Mix with salt, crushed thyme and rosemary
Enjoy warm or keep in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks
