I got a lot of questions last week when I mentioned that I keep all my wines organized in an excel spreadsheet. Let me be the first to admit that I do not have a real collection in any way, but I do have enough wine that I wanted to find a way to organize them all.
This spreadsheet has already proven to be pretty helpful, mostly because it keeps me from drinking a glass of nice wine that should aged a few more years while I’m eating In-n-Out.
The categories are a bit hard to see in the picture (you can click to enlarge), but the main ones I pay attention to are:
- Vineyard/Winery
- Variety
- Vintage
- Quantity
- Year of Maturity (not pictured)
- Favorite?
Really, that is all you need to know…or at least that I care about. There are other categories that they include that I don’t care about and typically just hide them.
