On Wednesdays We Drink Wine

wine haul treasure tromp Remember how I spent the other week up in Sonoma visiting my family and seeing a friend get married? Well, it wouldn’t be a proper trip up north if it didn’t include a little wine tasting. That picture above shows off the newest editions that I picked up. You know, just another 9 bottles of wine and 1 Corkcicle (uumm, remember how the Corkcicle was on my Wine Wish list? Dreams DO come true!).
BR Cohn

Winery #1: BR Cohn Winery & Olive Oil Company

Thursday morning I picked up my roommate from the airport and took her to a winery for our first tasting of the day …at about 11am. Note: this is a typical wine tasting starting time – don’t hate. We ended up going to BR Cohn, a personal favorite of mine, to engage in a little mid-morning wine / olive oil tasting.
Favorite Wine: 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection $100.00
Favorite Olive Oil: Meyer Lemon California Olive Oil $12.00

Winery #2: Chateau St. Jean Winery

I’ve said it once before, but Chateau St. Jean is my absolute favorite winery. Favorite! I wrote a whole post dedicate to them, so I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say that I walked out of this tasting 8 bottles heavier than I had arrived.
Favorite Wine: 2009 Reserve Chardonnay $45.00
Aren’t the grounds beautiful?

Winery #3: Kunde Family Winery

The final winery stop of the day was to Kunde Family Winery. This place is beyond beautiful, and the wine is delicious. As pictured above, you even get a yummy piece of salted dark chocolate with their dessert wine. Yes please! They also offer mountain top wine tastings, which are suppose to offer beautiful views of the valley. I have yet to try that experience, but I don’t doubt that it is absolutely beautiful!
Favorite Wine: 2008 Red Dirt Red
Another successful wine tasting trip! I’m linking up with What I’m Loving (wine, duh), and Wonderful Wednesday.
